Welcome to The Old Chapel Cafe, a hidden gem nestled on Flint Road in Saltney Ferry, Chester. This charming café is not just about serving delicious food and coffee; it's a beloved community hub where friendships are formed and connections deepened. The ambiance is warm and inviting, boasting quaint decor that perfectly complements its history as an old chapel.

Stepping inside, you're greeted by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingling with the sweet scent of homemade cakes. The café offers a delightful range of offerings from homemade cakes and tray bakes to satisfying full cooked breakfasts and vegetarian options. Highlighting their menu is the AMAZING Victoria Sponge cake, which customer Lucy Clarinettist describes as a must-try, alongside their cherished homemade soup and fish pie—each dish crafted with care. You can also indulge in comforting toasties and scrumptious sandwiches, making this café the perfect spot for both light bites and hearty meals.

What truly sets The Old Chapel Cafe apart is the community spirit palpable within its walls. Patrons often comment on the friendly staff and volunteers, who go above and beyond to ensure each visit feels personal and welcoming. As Ann Martin notes, the café is not just a place to grab a bite to eat; it’s a sanctuary of positivity and connection. With comfy seating that invites you to linger a little longer, it's the ideal locale for a catch-up with friends or to enjoy a peaceful moment on your own.

Furthermore, the café is incredibly clean, with facilities that meet every standard of comfort. Reviews from past visitors highlight the attentive service and the sense of care deeply embedded in the operations—from the quality of the food to the overall customer experience. Paul Hurst's first visit was met with friendly smiles and appetizing food, establishing a memory that will see him returning again. Similarly, both Kate Dodd and Night Swimming rave about the value for money, excellent service, and the café's heartfelt mission to offer an antidote to impersonal corporate coffee chains.

The Old Chapel Cafe isn't merely a café; it’s a delightful testament to communal spirit, creativity, and the joy of sharing good food. So why not take a moment out of your day to support this welcoming establishment? Whether you're in the mood for a satisfying breakfast or a slice of heavenly cake, you'll find each experience here not just fulfilling but truly enriching.

Very sweet cafe, with friendly staff, good food, hot coffee and AMAZING Victoria Sponge cake. Lovely community feel and they're clearly working on bringing people together. Really worth visiting and supporting these people who are creating a sense of community for people. Something that has been lost a little. Would definitely visit again!

The Old Chapel Capel is just perfect. The food ranges from home-made cakes and tray bakes , homemade soup , homemade sandwiches, toasties to full cooked breakfasts with vegetarian options , also main meals such as homemade Fish pie , etc. The staff and volunteers are very friendly and helpful. The cafe and toilets are very clean and fully meet expectations. As a community facility there are numerous community events and classes on during the day and evening which are organised by local groups which are held in one of several rooms available for use. The cafe is dog friendly and the volunteers are more than happy to bring a bowl of water over to your pet. There is a snall car park but only space for 4 cars . However, cars can be parked on the road but ensure that cars are not parked on the pavement. Everything is homemade. Prices are very reasonable and the Cafe is currently open Wed Thursday Friday and Saturday. I understand plans are afoot to open Sunday but that will possibly happen in the Summer , hopefully sooner The cafe is also only 1 mile from the river dee and the fantastic cycle path and footpath that runs alongside the river. I would fully recommend a visit to the Old Chapel Cafe. I promise you will not be disappointed.

A lovely place serving good food. Great team work hard to create a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. The antidote to corporate coffee and cake. Open over the weekend as well now.
